About the Role:

Arcadis is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of capital and process improvement projects within a complex, GMP-regulated biomanufacturing environment. This role will work closely with senior project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of engineering projects, from design through implementation.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in process engineering, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to contribute across all phases of project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, designers, contractors, and operations staff, to implement facility and process improvements.
  • Assist in the review of technical drawings, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
  • Help develop project scopes, technical documentation, and maintain project schedules.
  • Monitor project progress, track key deliverables, and regularly report updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections to support design implementation, oversee contractor activities, and verify compliance with project and quality standards.
  • Support procurement processes by reviewing technical bids, vendor documentation, and equipment submittals.
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and participate in the review and approval of contractor submittals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4–5 years of experience in an engineering or project support role within a regulated manufacturing environment (biotech/pharma preferred).
  • Strong understanding of process engineering principles and facility systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and basic familiarity with GMP requirements is a plus.
