Job Title: Corporate Manager, Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA)

Position Summary
Provide is seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate FSQA Manager to lead a food safety and quality assurance initiatives across all company operations with our client. This strategic role is pivotal in upholding our commitment to producing safe, high-quality products that meet and exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our FSQA systems. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to managing food safety risks and driving a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Development & Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain corporate FSQA policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) schemes (e.g., SQF, BRC), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and HARPC (Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls).
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert on all FSQA-related matters for the organization.
- Lead the design and execution of strategic quality initiatives to enhance product consistency, safety, and compliance.
- Manage the supplier approval and verification program, including conducting supplier audits and assessments to ensure raw material quality and safety.
Compliance & Auditing:
- Ensure robust compliance with all applicable food safety regulations from the FDA, USDA, and state and local health agencies. Stay current with emerging regulations and industry best practices.
- Oversee and direct all internal, third-party, customer, and regulatory audits and inspections across multiple facilities.
- Manage the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) program, ensuring timely and effective resolution of non-conformances identified during audits, inspections, or internal monitoring.
- Maintain all necessary documentation and records for FSQA programs to ensure audit readiness at all times.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of FSQA professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, R&D, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to integrate quality standards into all stages of the product lifecycle, from concept to commercialization.
- Act as the key point of contact for resolving complex food safety and quality issues, including customer complaints and product recalls or withdrawals.
Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement:
- Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track FSQA performance across the organization.
- Analyze FSQA data, including statistical process control (SPC), non-conformance reports, and consumer feedback, to identify trends and opportunities for systemic improvement.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on FSQA metrics, audit outcomes, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a closely related technical field is required.
- Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in a food safety and quality assurance role within a food manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership or management capacity, with proven ability to manage FSQA programs and personnel across multiple sites.
- Demonstrated experience with GFSI standards (SQF or BRC) is required.
Certifications & Licenses:
- HACCP certification is required.
- Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification is required.
- GFSI Practitioner (e.g., SQF Practitioner) or Lead Auditor certification is strongly preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of modern food safety principles, including HACCP, HARPC, GMPs, sanitation, environmental monitoring, and pest control.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of FDA and/or USDA regulations.
- Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate teams. Capable of influencing cross-functional partners and driving change without direct authority.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to perform root cause analysis, assess risk, and implement effective, data-driven solutions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, from plant floor employees to executive leadership.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experienced with Quality Management System (QMS) software and ERP systems.
