Position: Junior Estimator

Location: Southern California

Travel: Minimal

Compensation: 90-120k

Search Type: Retained

We have been retained by our client, a reputable and growing general contractor, to identify a Junior Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This is a great opportunity for an emerging construction professional to work alongside experienced estimators and project managers on competitive bid and negotiated projects across public and private sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for various scopes of work
• Support the bid process by analyzing drawings, specifications, and other documentation
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes
• Participate in job walks and site assessments as needed
• Assist in developing cost comparisons and value engineering suggestions
• Help compile final bid packages for review and submission
• Coordinate with internal project teams during preconstruction phases

Qualifications:

• 1 to 3 years of estimating or relevant construction experience
• Familiarity with public works, K-12, higher education, or light commercial projects is a plus
• Proficient in reading construction documents and performing basic takeoffs
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and estimating software preferred
• Willingness to learn and grow under the mentorship of senior estimators
