Job Description

An industry-leading food manufacturer is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to lead and optimize the day-to-day operations of its high-volume production facility. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations, this role is critical in ensuring operational excellence, safety, and efficiency across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of daily plant operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and production targets.
  • Manage the facility's P&L, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines and financial performance metrics.
  • Lead and develop manufacturing teams to maintain high-speed, high-quality production standards.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and processes, supporting a workforce of over 500 employees.
  • Guarantee timely and accurate order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving initiatives in safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams on CAPEX projects and equipment upgrades.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, training programs, and performance management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and EH&S regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operations, preferably in food manufacturing or a similar high-velocity environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operational reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage conflict, and drive performance.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or ISO methodologies is highly desirable.
