Job Description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Director of Finance to lead all financial operations for the organization. This pivotal role is responsible for driving financial performance, optimizing cost efficiency, and ensuring fiscal integrity across our diverse portfolio of properties. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment, leveraging their expertise to support operational leaders with critical insights that foster profitability and long-term success.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and compliance, while partnering closely with General Managers, Operations, and Executive Leadership. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining robust internal controls, managing vendor contracts, and leading a dedicated finance and accounting team to achieve excellence in all financial functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial functions including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and reporting across one or more hospitality properties.
  • Partner with General Managers, Operations, and Executive Leadership to align financial planning with business objectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate financial health and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
  • Manage vendor contracts, capital expenditures, and cost-control initiatives to improve margins.
  • Supervise the finance/accounting team, providing training and development to ensure excellence.
  • Support audits, tax filings, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.
  • At least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role within the hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Restaurant 365, etc.) and Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and work cross-functionally with multiple departments.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Strong understanding of hotel/resort financial metrics, revenue management, and operational finance.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification.
  • MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
