About the Role: We're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to join our team in the Bay Area, CA ! Specialists are in the field assisting the properties in their portfolio 3 – 5 days a week. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with experience in Project-Based Section 8, Tax Credit (LIHTC), Local Programs who wants to make a real difference in maintaining the integrity and compliance of our communities. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring compliance standards are met across our properties, creating a positive impact for residents and stakeholders alike.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure files comply with all Affordable Programs, including Move-Ins, Recertifications, Gross Rent Changes, and Terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) requirements, manage reports, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Verify income/rent limits, tenant rent, subsidies, and utility allowances for accuracy.
  • Oversee property compliance with state, federal, and local agency requirements.
  • Review and prepare resident files for property audits, ensuring our portfolio is audit ready.
  • Assist with all affordable housing submissions and attend compliance training sessions.
  • Foster collaboration and provide excellent customer service to residents and team members.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience in Project-Based Section 8, LIHTC and Local programs.
  • Hands-on experience with Yardi (highly preferred).
  • Experience with USDA Rural Development (highly preferred).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to regulatory detail.
  • A passion for compliance, a collaborative mindset, and excellent communication skills.
  • Must live in the geographic area of assigned portfolio in the Bay Area, this is not a remote position
